They are a rip off. Don’t do it.
They make it hard to cancel your service.

Vivint service is IMPOSSIBLE to cancel. We used Vivint in our former house and were happy with the service. We moved 6 months ago to a new home, and despite over a dozen phone calls and emails over a 6 month period to every Vivint email address and phone number we can find and endless assurances that our service would be cancelled, Vivint continues to bill us for the monitoring of our old home. We did not have a long term contact with them and we should be able to cancel at any time per the term
Better company name would be "The Boy That Cried Wolf." The few times the alarm actually went off, which the cat set off both times (despite their "smart" sensor setting for animals), they were responsive to call police out to investigate. Since then, as we have cats that set off the sensor, I cannot regularly use the "Away" setting for the alarm, lest it keeps triggering. So when I'm away, I have to use the "Stay" setting to do so unless I want to keep calling the cops to my house unwarranted.
