We initially switched to HDD for regular maintenance after realizing our previous landscaper was basically a blow-and-go operation. They weren't putting in the time or care our plants needed. HDD came in, cleaned things up properly, paid attention to watering, protected plants from frost, and clearly cared about keeping everything healthy and looking its best.
